Task implementing in the classroom: It was interesting to know many of the activities I do in class seem to be on track in a kla I was not familiar with, however I did learn a great deal. I was particular challenged when dealing with actual coding and liked the section on graphic coding programs like scratch and mit app creator software which I have now implemented in classes and future programs. One area ia continuing to develop in is becoming more familiar with general language coding such as java script and app creating this way. I will endeavour to implement m…

My Pre-primary students are just starting a new Talk4Writing book of Mr Wiggle and Mr Waggle. We have been using an ozobot to go along the same journey as Mr Wiggle and Mr Waggle (Mr Wiggle leaves his house, goes up the hill, down the hill etc). This has been highly engaging for the students and they thoroughly enjoy practicing their oral language skills as they ozobot moves along the story line. We have been asking the students what steps are required as we map the story and recreate it for the ozobot.

Summary of Integrated Science Unit on Living Things:
This unit was created as part of an integrated classroom theme. Children were immersed in the theme from the beginning of the term throughout all their Language, Maths, Science, Technology and Design and art lessons. This package includes a small sample of what was covered over the term.
Each week we read a different ‘focus text’ as we focused on different aspects of living things (Australian Animals/ Zoo Animals/ Minibeasts/ Plants/ Gardens etc).
We organised an excursion for all Foundation-Year 1 stud…

U4 Task 3 Mathematics Connections
In English we read Nim's Island, and have a whole Unit of work. After this course I now see I could integrated more Maths and Digital Technologies. In maths we also alongside this teach Location and Coordinates, but now feel I could further enrich this learning by getting the children to create their own maps, then get the BeeBot to locate treasure for example, following a treasure map key.
I found some great resources on the TES website which are free:

Task 3: Digital Tech + Maths!
I am fortunate that I work at a school that has embraced digital technology with a lot of digital resources. Year 4 are lucky enough to have Dash robots and we have been able to look at creating 2D shapes through coding – this included students building upon their knowledge of length and angles in order to correctly code the robot (this lesson can be found in the itunesU course shown below). Another digital technology and mathematics example I have used is through the teaching of area using the app Montezuma…

U3: English Connections
For this task my students have been responding to the author's language used in a traditional Dreamtime story – The Rainbow Serpent. The children collected various language features including noun groups, time connectives and adverbs, then they wrote their responses into an oral presentation. The students used green screens and the app. Do ink to create more realistic backgrounds and animations for the story and a combination of audio and video recordings to create and imovie to present to the class. The children produced amazing imo…
