Whenever we interact with digital systems we leave an online footprint that company’s turn into data. This data can be extracted from something as simple as liking an image, your social media profiles, googling something specific, opening different apps on mobile devices, watching shows on your Netflix account and following your friends online. This data is all used to create targeted content and is stored for big corporations to use for their benefit. This is why it’s important be safe online and have a responsibility for your own privacy and cyber awareness.
