Key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety:

• Cyber security involves the use of computer science tech and systems to protect computers, networks, programs and data.
• Cyber awareness focuses on building and using knowledge around cyber uses and how to use this to help protect our personal information.
• Cyber safety is how we use and share information in a way that exposes us to a minimal amount of risk online.

I am not teaching any of these aspects in my class as I am a PST and I’m not yet registered to teach. Once I am registered and completed more courses on general computer use and safety, I plan to use and incorporate as much digital technologies in my class as possible. Our children are in an ever growing digital world. The more knowledge, experience, and understanding of this world will equip them with the tools they need to be successful members of this world.
