- Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or to what extend do you think they should be taught and why?
Cyber security protects technological devices and private information, such as computers, phones, data, networks and so forth. Whereas cyber awareness is the knowledge that one holds on how to practice cyber security. This may involve applying knowledge and awareness into accounts one creates, use of data, information provided online and ensuring they are following all protocols. Lastly, cyber safety is applying ones awareness and security measures they already know into practice when using technological devices, this involves being ethical, safe and careful with technology. These factors are highlighted throughout ACARA and should be taught in all schools. This is because it helps develop knowledge and skills for students, allowing them to engage in technology safely.
