WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption is used when you message others using WhatsApp Messenger. End-to-end encryption ensures that only you and the person you communicate with can read or hear the content of the message and that no one, including WhatsApp, can read/hear. That's because when using end-to-end encryption, your messages are secured with a key that only you and the recipient have a special key used to unlock and read the message. All of this happens automatically: no need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure your messages.
