Activity: Students represent themselves using only emojis. on a paper T-Shirt. They can use one, two or three. Students can copy emojis or create their own.
Students pair up and try to work out what each emoji means about the designer. Display student T-shirts around the classroom and see if students can accurately match to the correct student.
Class Discussion- Did we all agree on the meaning for the different emojis? What made it hard or easy?
Concluding messages- As media creators, before we post messages or pictures online, it’s a good idea to pause and ask: “How could someone who is different from me interpret this? Am I sure they’ll understand what I mean?”
