Task 7: Option 2
One activity that was presented within this module that I would like to take into the classroom is the visual programming of Bee-Bots in a maze made from pop-sticks.
I think it is truly valuable to take the visual appeal of the bot and the fun and familiarity involved in solving simple maze problems and transform it into an unconscious programming activity.
This activity can be more independent or suit pairs or small groups.
What is also exciting about this is the live problem solving and creative thinking involved in the maze construction and programming execution.
As a hook for an lesson of this nature, the teacher could show how a student might follow instructions within a maze on the floor constructed of masking tape; providing another natural and valuable link to the concept of computational thinking.
Thank you!
