Daisy the Dinosaur
Daisy the Dinosaur is an early years programming app designed for children from four years above. This visual programming app allows students to experience basic coding in drag-and-drop motions, which I think it is a great design for little learners.
This program also operates using block-based kids’ programming language, which allows students to learn basic coding language such as object, loops, sequencing and events.
As part of the classroom activity, students will be asked to design 5 different commands in sequence and see how Daisy moves and changes. After students are familiar with the basic coding language, problems can be set up in a challenge mode to test students’ ability to solve the challenges.
I think this is a simple and fun way to introduce programming to early years learners and beginning learners at all age.
