Task 6: Option


This is a flow chart used to decide on whether an umbrella or alternative will be needed for the day in order to be prepared for the weather conditions. This is made of two questions and two steps that result in either needing or not needing an umbrella for the day.

Something like this simple flow chart can be used in the classroom to show students how basic decisions are determined by a set of instructions that create an algorithm, and how many times a day steps can be followed in order to make decisions or produce outcomes, whether it is inherently thought out or more of an unconscious effort.

This is a good example of computational thinking as it is a series of steps in order to solve a problem and these steps are followed in the same way every time this situation arises.
