A data source that I have come across is https://www.gapminder.org/dollar-street. This allows students compare different living conditions around the world. Students are able to collect data based on what is found in each image and by the average income per month of the country where the image is taken. This can allow students to create their own categories for analysing data and give them a wealth of data to create bar or line graphs comparing the wealth and living conditions of different countries.
This could link with the SCSA curriculum code for Year 6, differences in the economic characteristics (e.g. per capita income, energy consumption), demographic characteristics (e.g. population size, density) and social characteristics (e.g. life expectancy, education) of a selection of countries across the world (ACHASSK139).
