Task 6, Option 2
Option 2: Design an activity that explores sequences of instructions. In the early years, this could be an activity that encourages children to develop skills in putting things into a logical sequence. In the older years this could be more complex and involve students playing a game or doing an activity. If you are teaching remotely (online) describe an activity that students can participate in from home or in an online environment.
An activity to explores sequences of instructions could be giving students cards with the order of how to make cookies with pictures to help. Get the students to put the cards in order from beginning to end of they think it would go. Once the students have put the cards in order, read them a simple story (either made up or a real book) about someone making cookies. Then get the students to see if they would rearrange their cards once they have heard the story.
EXTENSION
Get the students to make cookies from the order in which they have chosen.
RESOURCES
Cards with the order of how to make cookies
Story of how to make cookies
Cooking area and cookie ingredients (if doing extension)
