Task 2: Option 4
Option 4: If you are teaching students remotely (online), what types of data activities could students do from home? This could be an activity with or without technology.
A short and feasible data activity that could be taught to students remotely, is collecting data from what is inside their pencil case. Students can count the number of pencils, texters, pens, erasers and sharpeners inside their pencil case. Students can rank the items from the most to the least in the pencil case. To further this activity, once students have collected their data of each item, they can create a bar graph from the data. This can allow for the students to use terminology such as ‘the most’, ‘the least’, and ‘the total number of items in the pencil case’.
