Task 6 – Option 2


Option 2: Design an activity that explores sequences of instructions. In the early years, this could be an activity that encourages children to develop skills in putting things into a logical sequence. In the older years this could be more complex and involve students playing a game or doing an activity. If you are teaching remotely (online) describe an activity that students can participate in from home or in an online environment. 

Students will explore sequence of instructions through an activity in which they are required to write a set of instructions for the teacher to complete in order to walk from the classroom to the playground at school. The class will then go on a walk and the teacher will follow each set of instruction EXACTLY according to the students instructions. For example if the instructions say go outside the teacher will walk into the door demonstrating that a step stating open the door has been missed in the instructions. Students will then be given a second chance to complete instructions, changing and adding more detail where needed.
