A lesson idea that involves past and present technologies could be the differences between and abacus and calculator. Most students would know what a calculator is, but the teacher may need to explain what an abacus is. A fun activity that could be done as a class would be a competition as a class as to how we get an answer to a sum on each device. The teacher could pick two students to do this and explain their answers until each person had participated.
