Computer Hunt

Ask students how many digital systems (computers) they think they have in their home.  Students estimate how many they think they have.  Students are then invited to walk around their home, listing the digital systems  they find as they go, and write what important job they do. Students’ findings can be recorded as drawings or words or can be digitally recorded on a computer.  Discuss results with family members and then  share findings with other students on an on-line classroom  discussion forum, guided by teacher. This activity ties in with (ACTDIK001) Knowledge and Understanding- recognise and explore digital systems (hardware and software components) for a purpose.
