This article introduced the first 3D-printed steel bridge in the world. More than a dozen sensors are attached to this 12-metre-long MX3D Bridge. It will monitor strain, movement, vibration and temperature across the structure as people pass over it and the weather change. I find it interesting how DT was used as a tool for engineers to study the unique material properties and help designers understand how 3D-printed steel might be used for larger and more complex building projects.
