It is very important to teach primary school students on what information is private and what we can share with others (public).
Have students watch the video above before completing the activity below.
There is a resource on ‘teacherpayteachers’ that helps students make this distinction Students are given 22 cards that contain bits of information such as, ‘my birthday’ or ‘my favourite food.’ They are then to cut and paste these cards onto a table divided into two columns (private information & public information). This activity get students thinking about what they should and shouldn’t share online. Some might be surprised that they shouldn’t be sharing their birthday date online. Then reflect together as a group and justify answers.
