For this lesson, teacher can provide students with either pictures of or actually real life items. This can be anything from telephones, computers which will be slightly easier to get a hold of. Other examples include pictures of cars, televisions or computers then and now. These items can be from either 10 years or even 20 years ago.
To start, students can be in groups to arrange the pictures of items from the oldest to the most recent. They will be able to have discussions on these items and how they have changed over the years.
Individually, students can design their own futuristic items and discuss characteristics that they would either change or keep.
This will allow for meaningful discussion and allow students to be creative and critical about their choices.
