Task 2: Data Representation

I had previously collected data on my students’ abilities of making patterns from my diagnostic and summative assessments. In order to assess their learning progression, I used this data to create a column bar chart that compares their diagnostic and summative assessments.

This column bar chart display demonstrates that there are more students who have a better understanding of patterns at the end of the teaching sequence.

If the students were older, I would show their learning progression in a pictograph with Unifix cubes on the whiteboard, and ask them to identify the trend of this data visualisation.
