Remote learning data collections opportunities help students to continue to engage with peers and teacher. Simple tasks, such as categorising the weather outside for morning calendar can be collected through an online Google Sheet with tally marks and used to build patterns over time. This group data collection also serves to contrast localised differences in weather or extended to breakfast foods, type of book read, colour of tshirt etc. Personalised data collection could inform a detective tasks for students to undertake a scavenger hunt, assess categories of food or household products or build a record of time spent on various tasks during the day. Creating graphical representations is easier if the data is stored electronically and systematically.
