A digital technology example used to solve a problem is the COVIDSafe app implemented in Australia. The COVIDSafe app is a digital tool that helped identify potentially exposed contacts to the corona virus disease and help track and trace data.

It is beneficial as it provided a tracking mechanism to help identify and minimise the spread of corona virus outbreaks through contact tracking. Something interesting about the app however, included a public debate and opinion surrounding tracking and storage of personal data, which caused some caution downloading the app by a portion of the general public even during the height of the pandemic. This was interesting as to succeed, the technology needed increased download rates and exposure to maximum percentage of the population.
