This flow chart is an example of a basic, everyday algorithm for logically figuring out why a light is not working.
Within the classroom this would be one a few examples I would use to select problems for solving that students can then replicate for themselves.
Mind you, this type of thinking is so incredibly restrictive you could train a monkey to do it.
