Differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety


  1. Explain what you think are some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety. To what extent are you teaching these in the classroom or to what extend do you think they should be taught and why?

Some of the key differences between cyber security, cyber awareness and cyber safety is:

Cyber security is about protecting computers, networks, programs and data from digital attacks through security designs, controls, protections, awareness and user behaviour.

Cyber safety is the safe and responsible use of ICTs and is all about teaching cyber safe behaviours and ethics.

Cyber awareness is about increasing knowledge through education and policy as well as understanding the potential threat to safety and having the knowledge and skills to avoid these threats.
