Cyber Security, Cyber Awareness, and Cyber Safety can be considered as 3 non-linear stages/levels of interacting with technologies.
Cyber Awareness is about acquiring/developing knowledge and behaviours that promote the ethical and safe use of technology, including information protection, and knowledge of/about data use. This is a theoretical stage in which the accrual of relevant information is the focus.
Cyber Safety is about how knowledge of safe and responsible technology practices are applied in use. This is a stage people are actively involved in when they are using Information Communication Technologies.
Cyber Security is about the active protection of devices, networks, programs, and data from digital/cyber attacks. This stage is most often completed by skilled professionals and involves strong and frequent testing and innovation procedures.
