Task 7: Option 4


Option 4: As many schools are teaching remotely online due to Covid-19, in what ways can you facilitate a lesson on visual programming remotely? What tools and approaches would you use to deliver content and engage students in activities from their home? You might also consider ways you address different student needs, depending on resources available to them at home.

Due to COVID-19, a lot of classes have had to facilitate lessons via a visual program remotely. Collaborate and Zoom Meetings are really good alternatives to use. In Collaborate, you can have your screen visible to all students who are online participating, and I think a good task to engage students from home is the scratch program. As a teacher I would use the “I do, we do, you do” method. I would demonstrate how to use the tools, then as a class I would have everyone use the animate your name activity from this link: https://scratch.mit.edu/ideas ; once they have an idea on how to use the program, I would have everyone use the link: https://scratch.mit.edu/ideas and the create a story file to make up their own story with the technology šŸ™‚
