Google’s free CS First program contains numerous lesson plans and other resources designed to help make teaching code both easy and fun. One such resource aimed at primary aged students is the Pitch Your Passion activity, found here:
During this activity students will use Scratch to build a project about something they care about. Students should be encouraged to use a wide range of Scratch’s inbuilt functionality – including event blocks, motion blocks, sounds and conditional statements – to create a their short ‘presentation’ on their chosen topic.
This resource includes a comprehensive lesson plan to help teachers implement the activity. This is especially useful to any teachers who are still familiarising themselves with Scratch.
