A visual programming environment that I really like for younger children is the Osmo Coding (for iPad). This is a great introduction to coding as it incorporates physical coding blocks. The player controls the character who loves to eat strawberries. The player arranges the coding blocks into a coding command, pushes the play button on the blocks and the character follows the command on a grid displayed on the iPad.
