Task 7: Visual Programming
Option 2: Describe a classroom activity that incorporates a visual programming environment (it can be any included in this module or another environment that you come across).
Students can be required to choose from a variety of short stories and be asked to replicate the narrative through visual representation via the Scratch program. This can be an effective way of interrelating DT with other areas of the curriculum. In this case developing both DT and Literacy skills and understandings. Students could do this in pairs as a collaborative activity or individually. As an extension on this activity students could be required to share their narrative and visual animation to the class or in small groups. And then be required to explain their reasoning and their learning processes.
