Task 4: Option 3
In order for students to explore past and present technologies, an activity that could be incorporated is to find their own piece of ‘old’ technology and bring it in to class. For example, a piece of an old computer such as a mouse, speaker or even a floppy disk. Students will be asked to draw a diagram of what they brought in, trying to label what they think the importance of what they’ve brought is in helping a computer work and if it leads to communication between computer systems.
After students have done this, they are to research into the answer for what they have brought in does and find an improved modern version of the product and how much it has evolved to today assisting in communication through software and networks.
