The following example inquiry question could be used to form the basis of an inquiry into a form of technology that will be familiar to many students – QR Codes:
How does a computer read a QR code?
This question is relatively open-ended and would be well suited to a Year 3 or 4 class (curriculum outcome ACTDIK007).
The inquiry could involve students investigating how a camera (input device) is used to transfer information to the computer itself, and how the computer processes and interprets this information.
