Task 3 – Option 3

This example was found on Pinterest and introduces students to the basics of binary code.


The teacher will firstly run through a brief introduction to binary codes from the first couple of worksheets and demonstrate some examples of how binary code can represent letters. Students will then fill in a work sheet focusing upon cracking some binary code questions before attempting to create their own coded bracelet which will represent the letter of their first name.  The expected learning outcome is for students to formulate a basic understanding of what binary code is and how binary code is used by computers use and store information. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of some basic binary vocabulary definitions such as code, bit and byte.
