Task 3: Data – Representation


For Task 3 I picked option 2, this is to decode a message using numbers to represent letters that make up a sentence. I message that is in relation to something the students are learning about in class. For example the message could be an important quote from a story book the students are reading. The students can be placed into small groups of about 3-4 and be given a chart and paper, with the chart converting the numbers into letters, for example 1 = A, the students then learn to work together in a possible race against other groups to find the message. This shows students working cooperatively and collaboratively while teaching skills in decoding and organising data.
