TAKS 2: Data-Pattern and Play


Option 4: If you are teaching students remotely (online) what types of data activities could students do from home? This could be an activity with or without technology


A simple introductory activity that all students can access via online communication is templets that the student is actively engage with completing. The activity can be titled ‘What’s Missing”, from here the teacher can supply an array of patterns with different objects or numbers so students can enter in at their own level and build from there.


As students’ progress in their knowledge of patterns, students can accessibly access a website called smashmaths. Once students have actively participated in constructing their knowledge of patterns, the online games will continue engagement in a fun way so all students to build fluency.
