Year one History inquiry – compare past and present family life.
- As a provocation have a variety of recognisable and non-recognisable technologies laid out in front of students, these could include telephones, cameras, gramophones etc.
- Allow the students to interact with the different objects and have discussions about what they were used for, how they would be used etc.
- Compare and contrast the object from the past with todays replacement if there is one.
- Possibility of having parent or grandparent come in and talk about technology they used to use when they were growing up or get the students to go home and interview parents and grandparents past technology use and then present this information back to the class.
