Comparing visual entertainment technologies is an interesting one, because there is really no end to how far you can go back. Depending on how you are defining visual entertainment and technology you could go as far back as the Coliseum, or potentially even further to Indigenous paintings, dances, etc. Which is why it is also a good opportunity for some English integration to talk about the way we define certain terms. We could even refer to our eyes as visual entertainment systems in a sense, because while our sight obviously helps us survive, there are a lot of animals who are functionally blind and survive just fine. You could also investigate the historical impact of the television, and it’s impact on other parts of history, such as the Vietnam War. Endless possibilities.
