Lesson idea: behaving appropriately online
For this lesson the focus would be for students to consider that the people who populate the internet are real human beings, like their classmates and family members and that when behaving online one should consider these peoples feelings even if you cannot see their names or their faces.
The lesson could be centered around this resource from common sense education: https://www.commonsense.org/education/digital-citizenship/lesson/keeping-games-fun-and-friendly
Students would discuss what would be appropriate and inappropriate ways to behave in an online game and why. Then the students would be tasked with designing cover art for a video game with directions on how to behave appropriately with the other players.
