A Noisy Farm

This is a classroom activity aimed at foundation students. The book Noisy Farm animals written by Jessica Greenwall focuses on farm animals and the noises they make. The teacher reads the book to the students and explores the different sounds depended on the animals. Questioning further asked as to “why we think they make these noises?, “What are they doing possibly when they make these noises? eg. scared, happy, frightened.
Then students are asked to use materials allocated or sourced within the classroom to make a sound they may relate to the animal. It is important students explore the different sounds evident when using different materials. This representing how sound can be transferred or interpreted differently amongst students.
