Task 1: Introducing DTs – Option 2
A young boy with congenital neuropathy was having difficulty playing his beloved violin. A 13 year old girl has her own company, Limitless Limbs, which creates 3D printed, personalised prosthetics. She heard of this young boy, and after around a month printed a device that attached to his bow and locks his middle and ring finger into place. I found this interesting for two reasons. Obviously the idea of 3D printing being used in almost medical capabilities to develop highly personalised prosthetics is fascinating. This could have such wide ranging implications for the differently abled. Secondly, the fact that this girl is so young I feel is extremely inspirational and definitely gives our young students something to aspire to.
