Foley Theatre & Binary Scoring

The class are put into groups and chose a theme for a scene from their play. Half of each group silently act out the scene, while the other half make the appropriate foley sounds. The rest of the class: audience, have to guess the theme and individual ‘sound effects’ of each skit and score each group in binary. Later, an additional lesson has the whole class working out what the binary scores represented in regular numbers.
