Growing up in the Philippines and now teaching in Australia, I have always been amazed by how a country with massive resources can help developing nations. I think technologies like mobile phones have changed life in the 21st century, but it is interesting to see how this technology has been used to improve the lives of people from far-flung areas. Mobile technology has improved financial transactions and health care in the villages. Information dissemination has improved vastly. I think this is power of technology – ensuring accessibility especially to those who need help the most.
