When working with students in the early years of learning, I find the students really enjoy engaging in activities that help them to learn how to draw amazing pictures. There is an enormous range of Algorithm worksheets available using a quick search of the internet. For example: How to draw a shark with an algorithm worksheet set. These sequenced tasks assist the students to begin recognising the steps that make up an algorithm. The activity also integrates beautifully with all other learning areas. Whether it is to draw a picture to illustrate a character in a story or to draw a beetle as part of a Minibeast Science Unit. I particularly like using this format for Science lessons as it allows the opportunity to discuss the parts of the living thing you are drawing throughout the process.
