In term 1 I teach the students MS Excel and Year 5 voted to use ‘Favourite Holiday Destinations (in Australia) for their Survey.
Students are encouraged survey family and friends and teachers to gather data.
The surveys from the 3 Year 5 classes are collated and then the students input into excel and decide how they might like to format their chart.
They get very creative and can change the columns into images from the internet (if they choose).
I chose to try out the infogram.com app, and then I’ve added images for each place, formatted and resized these depending on the data range.
It’s a bit clunky, but it’s a first try.
