Task 5 Information Systems

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (https://www.abs.gov.au) collects raw data about basic population characteristics including age, sex, marital status, household composition, family characteristics, and household size. The Census is a survey and is taken on the same day every 5 years by all Australians.

The data obtained from the census is then collected and compiled to help plan and allocate money to such things as health care, education, transport, welfare etc. The data can help determine areas where the population may have risen and may need extra funding for things such as new schools, roads, health care facilities, child-care and senior centres.
