Data Representation: Binary

Data Representation

Flip the classroom and have students learn how to count in binary. Once mastered, have students practice decode a range of numbers. As an extension activity, use symbols, colour or physical objects to substitute for binary code. A coin (heads/tails), a switch (on/off), colour (blue/green), shapes (circles/squares) – can be used as binary code.
