Option 1 – collecting data
This is an image of an activity I’ve used in my year 5 classroom for my students to collect data about rolling a 6-sided dice 10 times. As a class we wanted to find out information such as which number comes up after each throw and what is the total number of times a certain number did come up after 10 throws. Once they had collected the required data, they were able to construct different graphs to represent that data, turning it into information we could use about statistics and probability. I’m now learning how to incorporate digital technology in this process.
