I saw a TEDx video at a CSER curriculum day recently, presented by the founder of Makey Makey.
This made me think of an inquiry question aimed at middle school students:
If I had to invent a new musical instrument, what would it be?
Students could research different types of instruments (including improvised), conductivity, inputs and outputs, create a digital solution using Scratch and perform to their peers.
Students could be provided with a range of resources such as digital devices, microphones, pickups, craft materials, conductive materials, Makey Makey boards, instructional cards or videos etc. This could provide outcomes for Design Tech, Digital Tech, Music, Measurement, Science and English.
