About this community

Welcome to the CSER Digital Technologies F-6 Community! It’s great to have you all involved.

This Community is for participants enrolled in the F-6 Digital Technologies MOOC and for those interested in Digital Technologies and computing education. While we will have MOOC participants sharing #cserTasks in this space, all members are welcome to share ideas, events and content (relevant specifically to the learning and teaching of Digital Technologies education). We would like only PD, competitions and resources shared that are explicitly about teaching digital technology, computer science, coding or computational thinking, not generally the use of ICT.

For MOOC participants, this community space will be used as a place for you to post your #cserTasks associated with the modules. We’ve organised this community into the 7 module topics. This community will remain freely accessible after the course has completed for everyone to continue to use and share. To look for content for a particular concept or topic, use the “search community” feature under the profile picture.

Please be mindful when posting that this is a public site and the posts you share for the course are protected under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (unless otherwise stated). We are a computer science education research group and use data to improve and share research about digital technologies education and professional development.

If you have any questions about the course or the Community please contact Dr Rebecca Vivian at rebecca.vivian@adelaide.edu.au or Associate Professor Katrina Falkner at katrina.falkner@adelaide.edu.au from the Computer Science Education Research Group at the University of Adelaide.

Enjoy!

    Hi
My name is John Calvert. I am a pre-service teacher, currently studying at JCU in Cairns, QLD. I have been introduced to the community by my Technologies lecturer as part of our unit focusing on ‘digital and design technologies for children’ and am thoroughly enjoying my time so far. ICT has always been an area I have approached with trepidation, however, I am beginning to feel more confident with every step I take and I look forward to learning and teaching alongside my students with an aim to becoming proficient in a field I had previously avoided at all costs
