Option 1: Design a classroom activity that uses an existing Scratch game and that focuses either on (a) understanding the Scratch program or (b) modifying the Scratch program
Last year, I ran a Code Club after school program. An activity which really engaged the students was using Scratch to modify a basic game from a Code Club Module. Their challenge was to create new ways to ‘level up’ in the game. We then reflected on the variations in their game designs and the strengths and weaknesses. It was great to see the different ideas that students came up with and they took great pride in their designs.
