Sonya Fishpool▸ Task 7: Visual Programming

Activity that I designed for a visual programming lesson involved students programming the Sphero robot to move through a maze. Students had to design a maze and then program their Sphero to using a visual programming language called Sphero Edu (app on iPad) which used visual block codes to program the Sphero to move through the maze. This lesson was linked to maths as students programmed the Sphero to move using degrees, speed and duration. Students needed to understand what degrees was needed for the Sphero to turn right and they also had to have an understanding of speed and time in order to ensure that their Sphero was able to successfully move through the maze.
