Sonya Fishpool▸ Task 2: Data- Patterns & Play

Stage 2 activity involved conducting scientific investigation into the living and non living things found in the school environment. Students would go outside and conduct a sound spot. The would draw themselves in the middle of their piece of paper and then using blue or red they would mark the different sounds they heard. Blue would be living and red for non living. Students would then use their observation skills to try and observe the different sounds they heard. They would use a table of living and non living things to represent the data they had collected. Students would then process to the computer lab (as the computer teacher I try to implement computer skills into the lesson) students represent the data they found using excel. Students must use two methods for representing the data they had collected. Students the interpret their data by looking at making comparisons between living and non living and their features and characteristics.
